Cosmetic
Cosmetic dental procedures are focused on transforming the aesthetics of your smile. They are not medically necessary to maintain good oral health, which means insurance won't cover the cost of treatment. Veneers are considered a cosmetic procedure since they mask the dental problem rather than structurally fix it. You can help extend the life of cosmetic procedures like veneers through good oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings.
Restorative
Restorative dental procedures are focused on improving your overall oral health. Since these procedures are deemed medically necessary, insurance will often cover at least a part of the procedure's cost. The goal of restorative dentistry is primarily to improve the function of your teeth, not the look of your smile.
